List of Dua for Laylatul Qadr Night Prayers

list of dua for laylatul qadr

The Night of Power serves as the most holy night in the Islamic calendar. The observance takes place during the final ten days of Ramadan which provides greater rewards than worshiping for more than one thousand months. The holy night serves as the main guiding goal for all Muslims who seek to grow closer to Allah. I created this guide to present all important dua prayers together with their complete dua collection for laylatul qadr which lets you fully benefit from this extraordinary evening.

What is Laylatul Qadr?

Laylatul Qadr is literally translated to mean The Night of Decree or The Night of Power. Allah devoted one of the surahs to Al-Qadr which he describes as offering more benefit than a thousand months. The night when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ first received the Quran, and also the night where the angels and Jibreel descend by the will of Allah with every issue of decree.

This night is concealed in such a way that believers endeavor in all the odd nights, namely 21 st, 23 rd, 25 st, 27 rd and 29 st of Ramadan. It is a night of tranquility, mercy and divine care, to miss which is a great loss.

The Rewards of the Night of Power.

The rewards that have been associated with the Laylatul Qadr are not similar to any other reward during the year. It is the Sunnah that tells us the following:

Better than 1000 months of worship -Any act of worship done on this night, in terms of dua, dhikr, and Quran recitation is comparable to doing it on a period of more than 83 years.

Angels descend to earth – The angels, headed by Jibreel, come down in masses upon the earth, bringing peace and blessings till the dawn.

Decrees are set for the year— The decrees of the coming year Decrees of life, provision, death, and destiny are on this night.

What to Do on Laylatul Qadr

To take advantage of this blessed night, you have to be prepared and be honest. According to the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, this is what you are supposed to give priority to:

Dua for Good Life and Akhirah.

To a believer, the next life and this life cannot be separated. What we do here we reap there. Dua #4 is the most inclusive Dua of the two worlds together. According to Anas ibn Malik (RA), this was the most recited dua by the Prophet ﷺ. On this night contribute to it by requesting in particular a good provision, a true spouse, submissive offspring, and above all a death on iman. There is no little about these, these are the architecture of a blessed life.

Dua to be successful at work and life.

A large number of Muslims are lost – in their professions, their aspirations, their direction. The ideal night to re-establish that direction is Laylatul Qadr. Read Dua #5 — to obtain knowledge that is used to your advantage, provision that is uncontaminated, and actions that are accepted.

The four items mentioned above that are guidance, piety, chastity, and sufficiency are the foundations of a successful life in this world and the one to come.

Dua for Well-Being and Health.

Say Dua #6 all this night and to people you love. Ask for health for your parents, your children, and all Muslims who are ailing or afflicted. Also, with physical health, pray that Allah heals your heart of grudges, envy, arrogance, and all forms of spiritual diseases that may make you estranged to Him. The worst disease is the one that is carried in the heart without being seen.

Etiquettes of Making Du’a

The manner of your dua is not as important as the words you say. The Prophet ﷺ was an excellent model in his etiquette:

One should praise Allah and bless the Prophet ﷺ first and then ask before proceeding with any need.

Turn towards the Qiblah – Facing the Qiblah is essential, and raise your hands and make dua.

Be in the state of Wudu -Purity improves the quality and concentration of your supplication.

Ask with certainty.

Repeat your dua three times -The prophet ﷺ used to repeat his supplications three times.

Do not rhyme or show-off dua -dua must be heartfelt and not an ordeal.

The Significance of Laylatul Qadr to Muslims.

Laylatul Qadr is not merely an occasion of a spiritual opportunity, but a gift of God. One night of supplication and you will see decades of sin washed away, years of reward assured, and the whole of your destiny molded. This night was not forgotten by the Prophet ﷺ. He would restart the whole remaining ten days, spend little sleep and wake up his home to come before Allah.

According to Imam Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali, the Laylatul Qadr was the market of the Hereafter, a kind of limited time where the believer can spend a few hours and earn what others spent their lifetime to earn.

Community wise, it is also a night of togetherness. Muslims in the world are united in their prayers and make the same prayers, weep the same tears, and pray that they receive the same mercy. It is a call to the fact that we belong to one Ummah and our unavoidable destination is the same Lord.

It is a mistake to skip this night because of negligence which the Prophet ﷺ cautioned. According to him, whoever spends this night in prayer and dua with the sincerity of faith will have all the sins of the past forgiven. Conditions of status, wealth, or rank, are not present, only sincerity.

Conclusion:

Dua is worship. And in no night does this weapon so work as Laylatul Qadr. On this night every dua that you raise is heard. Every tear carries weight. Every murmur of need is heard by Allah.

I have given you this list of dua on the occasion of laylatul qadr not as a prayer box, but a living dialogue with your Creator. Do not rush through them. Sit with each one. Know what you are requesting. Feel the weight of the words. The gates of heaven are open. The angels are listening. Allah is near.

Make tonight count. And should a night be taken, then take the next even night. Continue searching until the completion of Ramadan. The searching believer will not walk away without his share.

May Allah receive all of us, pardon our deficiencies, reward us with the full reward of Laylatul Qadr and be among us whose names are recorded in the books in the list of the forgiven. Ameen.
